HOW IS LIGHT MEASURED?

Light is measured in lux units. One lux is equal to one lumen per square metre.

WHAT IS A The WATT?

A watt is a unit of power used to measure the rate of energy transfer. One watt is reached when one amp crosses the potential electrical current of one volt.

WHAT IS A FOOT CANDLE?

Commonly used in the United States a foot candle is another measurement of visible light. One foot candle is equal to one lumen per square foot.

WHAT IS ILLUMINANCE?

Illuminance is the amount of luminous flux emitted by a light.

HOW CAN I MEASURE LIGHT?

Using a device called a lux meter, or download a lux meter app, which will give a rough guide of how much light is being emitted.

HOW DO I USE A LIGHT PLOT?

A light plot shows the spread of light for the total number of lamp heads. Each band represents a different number of lux.
