Winter maintenance advice to keep machinery in tip top condition
Machinery is easily affected by seasonal weather, so it’s advisable to take simple precautions to keep it in tip top condition this winter. Our Customer Service Director John Brogan has pulled together these simple tips:
Water pumps and pressure washers need to be protected from frost so keep them in a covered and protected storage unit this winter or make sure they have antifreeze in them.
Antifreeze needs to be checked on all machines kept outdoors particularly those that are powered by diesel engines. This should be done every time they are serviced and certainly once a year. Our generators and lighting towers are built to withstand testing conditions so winter is not a problem, but their antifreeze levels need to be correct.
Batteries should also be tested to ensure there is a good level of charge. If the battery is waning, cold weather will find it out.
It makes sense to look after your equipment whatever the season. We have a diverse range of quality equipment to suit all needs and can provide a service kit for each piece to help you to maintain and protect your investment.
